Jeez, another beautiful day here... winter sure has been a no-show this time around, George Jones has NOTHIN' on it, LOL. Two lousy storms with nowhere near enough rain or snow, I'll hafta water again this afternoon to keep things going, won't wanna do it tomorrow on Super Bowl Sunday. Here's hoping the Eagles win, I'm tired of the cheatin' Patriots and their paid-off refs making bogus calls, PFFFFFFFT. Besides, I had good times in Philly, especially during one 34-hour restart (time off) when I emptied my wagon in Gloucester City, NJ, toured the NJ State Aquarium in Camden, and crossed the Delaware to tour the Moshulu down on Philly's waterfront. Parked my rig right by Al's Pier 41 Cheesesteak Shack (I think it was Pier 41, don't quote me, I suffer from CRS), ordered a cheesesteak and a grilled pepper & Italian sausage sandwich, wolfed down one delicious sandwich in my sleeper and saved the other for later, drank a few ice-cold beers while blasting tunes in my truck, then walked over to the Moshulu and toured that bad girl. Impressive tall ship, the Moshulu, she was used as a prop in one of "THE GODFATHER" films, might have been the second one, in a scene showing immigrants arriving in America. They had a bar on board, so I bought another beer and roamed the decks, bottle in hand (to the bartender: "GLASSES?!? WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING GLASSES!!!"), marveling at the magnificent rig above... bad@$$ ship, the Moshulu, I bet she could tell some tales of seafaring adventure, might even be haunted after so many years of service.

WELL, I BETTER GET GOING HERE, I'M BURNIN' DAYLIGHT, I'LL TALK TO Y'ALL LATER, FOR SURE DURING THE STUPOR BOWL... LIKE ANY GOOD BEER-GUZZLING TRUCK DRIVER, I'LL HAVE A P!$$ JUG IN MY LIVING ROOM SO I DON'T MISS ANY HALFTIME COMMERCIALS, LOL.

Wait, I found a link with pics of the Moshulu:

    moshulu - Bing images

Once on that page, you can click on the blue button which reads "Sailing Bark Moshulu" to see more shots, though not all shots may be of the Moshulu. And I reckon it was "THE GODFATHER II" where the filmmakers used the Moshulu, I saw another button which indicated my initial guess was correct. o_O

Edit: Forgot to mention that I read in the "History" segment that the Moshulu rounded Cape Horn 54 times!!! HOLY MACKEREL!!! 54 TIMES AROUND THE HORN!!!

Not as easy as it sounds, I assure you... if I made it around just once in my old Laser, I'd thank my lucky stars, LOL.

Nice morning here... but the drought continues, wish it would rain like Noah's Flood. I was just reading a few posts from the C/L Philadelphia Rants & Raves, hilarious to hear the whiny little Cheatriots fans cry foul with "blown ref calls"---fans of the team and douchebag globalist owner who wrote the book on buying & selling refs, LOL.
