Good choice, see if the shop will let You hang around, might get to know a bit more of hoe an A/C system works.
Another thing that can fail, that I forgot about until just now is, one of the servos on the heater assembly may have failed and allowing nothing but hot air into the cabin. Or, at least a blend of cold and hot.

The shop does'nt let customers into the service bays, but last time I had a problem, once my truck was back in the parking lot, the guy, who happens to live up the road from me only about a mile, came out and showed me how he cleaned the Mass Air Sensor. Turned out it was the stupid K&N replacement filter was fouling it and that's what was causing the misfiring.
I went in expecting an expensive repair or replacement of parts, but cleaning the sensor and putting a new paper filter in fixed it.
The shop, Stones Service Station in Barre, Vt., has a good reputation and I trust them to give me a straight diagnoses.
    Thanks again.

That sounds like a shop that, even I could trust.
Nice to have a friend working in there too.
Please, post back what they find to be the problem.

I learned by trial and error and doing a lot of reading on which components do what to better understand how the AC systems work.

    Happy Day!!!
I went for a ride today and decided to try the AC just to see if removing and putting back in the fuses and relay made any difference, and it works!!!
I must have jarred something into working right or it was one of those servos that MrMarty mentioned and it went to the right position.
I had forgotten to mention that the AC/heat was only working in the 5 position of the fan speed dial, but I tried the other positions and those now work again too!
I know that there is a fan rheostat under the glove box that controls that, and had planned to replace that too eventually, but as of today, it is like I hit the Reset Button on the system somehow.:D

My bad..i need to start welcoming members..welcome to the best truck forum on the web. On the ac all of a sudden blowing hot..could be many things..actuator. low refrigerant

Can you tell me if you have the Automatic or Manual AC control system? The automatic usually has a temperature display... that you can set.., the manual just has a knob that you turn from Cold to Hot. Then see what We can find on this for you. Could be relay..

Thanks, yeah, it's the manual, base model SLE.
The refrigerant must be good because when it works she blows nice and cold.

Update: Still working, but the fan now has gone back to only working on setting 5. I know I need to replace the fan control rheostat, so I'll get around to it when I can.
