Hey man I have a 1996 gmc sierra k1500 my tail lights will not work. I cut the wires infront of the tank. I have a LT. Green D. Green, Yellow, White, and I wanna say Brown. I took a harness off a 91 chevy Silverado k1500 it has black, lt. green, d. green and yellow. What do I hook up? Ive been fighting with this for a couple of days now. ive hooked yellow to yellow lt green to lt green, d green to black, grounded white, because when I took the wiring off white was not connected to anything, didn't know what to do with it

Hey guys I don't know where I read this so I shared it with big bro so check it out guys oh below is what I sent my big brother.
    Take care! GMC

The guy had removed his dash to replace it and his battery was going dead when he would drive it, so some guy wrote this below just sharing some info with you big bro.

When you removed the dash, the idiot charge light indicator was remove, and that is known as the ticker wire... which excites the alternator into charge mode, if not a solid connection with resistance will not ever charge. find the excite wire , wire in a bulb @ 194 bulb or equal resistance and will go back to charging, I prefer a light on dash that way I know if its working or not. all over the internet of you Google it.

Now this is me I had never heard of this but when one is having electrical problems it can be a royal pain in the rear that's why I said let me share this.
    Be safe! GMC
