Replaced my starter about 2 months ago in my 2001 Chevy Silverado 4x4. Every once and awhile the truck won't start. It winds while trying to turn over but won't catch. the next try it starts. The battery is good and the starter is my 2nd new starter. Could it be something else besides the starter? Thanks

Is it a new starter or a reman starter, I always in todays parts go for new and pass on reman parts had alot of failed remaned parts.

Might need to look for loose wires or a bad ground in the ignition system .......?

Check your wires. Might be tire to replace them. you must have a side post battery, undo the bolts and clean them and clean the battery side as well. Had this problem when I didn't clean the bolt for POS+ side, after cleaning it stater problem went away.

if it wines then the solenoid is not doing its job and engaging the starter to flywheel...take it back for a replacement under warranty, tell them its not engaging

It's a remanufactured starter. This is the second one in three months!! Autozone junk!

If it still under warrenty go back to autozone do a exchange but tell them you want a NEW starter not a reman, cost a tad more but worth it in the long run. Parts like that starter, alt, water pumps the important parts that are or can be hard to change I opt for new not reman to keep from going back and having to do it again a few months down the road. I have tried the cheap route of reman parts and have ended up with bad new parts or be back again within a year doing a exchange.
